Description

Fast hands. Safe hands. Winning hands.
The SS R7 Catch Bat is an essential training tool for fielding practice — purpose-built to sharpen reflexes, improve hand speed, and condition players to take catches cleanly and consistently.

With a shorter length and wide, flat face, the R7 is designed to deliver high-repetition catch practice with controlled accuracy. Whether you're drilling close-in catches for slips, short leg, or wicketkeepers — or honing high catches and outfield grabs — this bat is built to handle it all.

Ideal for coaches, captains, or players leading team sessions, the R7 helps elevate team fielding standards with every rep.

Why Use the R7 Catch Bat?

  • Boosts Reaction Time: Perfect for close-in drills that replicate high-pressure match moments.

  • Consistent Rebound: Flat face and compact size deliver repeatable, accurate feeds.

  • Durable Build: Designed for thousands of catches

  • Coach’s Favourite: Lightweight enough for long sessions without fatigue.

Top Fielding Drills:

  1. Slip Cordon Fast Hands Drill
Stand close and deliver rapid edge-style catches to 2–3 players in slips. Work on quick reactions and soft hands.

  2. Wicketkeeper Reaction Drill
Vary speed and height to simulate edges and nicks — great for keepers developing footwork and glove control.

  3. Outfield High Catch Drill
Use the R7 to launch controlled skiers. Perfect for practicing under pressure and dealing with swirling balls.

  4. Diving Catch Drill
Deliver low, fast catches to encourage players to commit to full-length dives and soft landings.

All top coaches will agree that having the correct size equipment is crucial especially for junior players.

Gloves Sizing:

PLEASE NOTE - GLOVE SIZES ARE AN APPROXIMATION ONLY

6-8 Years - XS Junior

8-10 Years - Small Junior

10-12 Years - Junior

12-14 Years - Youths

15 Years and Above - Medium or Adult

It is important that gloves have a nice snug fit. If they are too loose the palm will bunch up and cause discomfort and they will wear out prematurely. With gloves it is acceptable to allow up to 10mm (1cm) of extra room at the end of the fingers.

Pads Sizing:

PLEASE NOTE - PAD SIZES ARE AN APPROXIMATION ONLY

Using Players Height -

120-135cm - XS Junior

130-145cm - Small Junior

140-155cm - Junior

150-165cm - Youths

170cm + - Medium or Adult

Pads are probably the most difficult to fit correctly. There is only limited room for error, and pads need to be fitted correctly to allow for a good amount of movement - There's nothing worse than being caught short on a quick single!! Ideally your knee should be centered in the knee roll and the "top hat" should not get in the way when playing your shots - particularly front foot shots.

Helmet Sizing:

With so many different brands of helmets available, it is important to check the circumference measurements within the different brand and helmets styles. To select the correct size, measure the circumference around the cap line (where a cap would sit). Most of our listed helmets will have a cm measurement guide to follow.
